An Excellent B and B

This B&B is located just outside of Eugene Oregon and within walking distance of Fern Ridge Reservoir. The facility is beautifully designed and well set with wonderful landscape views. Roomy yet cozy rooms. Fireplace in common room. Elizabeth, the proprietress, uses her culinary training and experience to set a delicious breakfast table emphasizing local food. We were visiting Eugene considering relocating there and Oregon and Elizabeth was a very knowledgeable resource for local information. This is a new property available which we highly recommend.            John and Lisa – Prescott, AZ

Highlight of Our Day

“Highlight of the day is far and away The Catbird Seat B & B where we’re presently tucked in. Amazing house on a hill decorated with a lifetime’s worth of treasures. Being our first ever B & B stay, we didn’t know what to expect. We certainly didn’t expect dinner, but we got it! A superb meal with local organic everything, southern sweet tea, and Double Dog Dare wine. We had a really good time with the proprietor, Elizabeth. This was another score that I was so happy to have found because it saved us having to go another 20 miles into Eugene. There is no other lodging between Mapleton and Eugene. Thank you Veneta Chamber of Commerce – The Catbird Seat is a brand new business we wouldn’t have found otherwise. It’s only a half mile off the route on Kirk Road. Kirk Rd. is on your left off Clear Lake Drive, a mile or so after you cross the Territorial Hwy (where Lawrence turns into Clear Lake). Kirk is a mile or so before you get to the town of Alvadore. Who knew the owners would be so much fun! Spread the word – let’s keep these guys in business!” Check out their blog here.

“Delicious organic breakfast – the hogs for the sausage are raised right across the street and eggs are from another neighbor. Pretty Elizabeth is a farrier on the side and does lots of bartering, they’re approaching sustainability at The Catbird Seat.”

Duck’s Fan

“Thank you again for providing such a relaxing weekend for us! Despite the Ducks losing (boo!) we were comforted by your graciousness as hosts, and the coziness that enveloped us when walking in the door. We didn’t want for anything, but of course to stay a bit longer. We look forward to bringing our little girl with us next time–she’ll be enchanted by your beautiful home, property, and true Southern hospitality.” Jenna and John – Portland, OR
